Een individu met een grote tros zwarte ballonnen in een besneeuwd en nevelig landschap tijdens zonsopgang. Iemand met een rokend hoofd midden in een sneeuwlandschap. Een persoon rent telkens hetzelfde rondje op een besneeuwde ondergrond. Deze beelden vormen het drieluik OVER DENKEN<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De video’s en performances van kunstenaar Janine van Veen (1989) zijn als bewegende schilderijen en levende sculpturen. Het filmen en performen doet ze zelf, in een natuurlijke omgeving, met haar eigen lichaam als materiaal. Soms zie je \u00e9\u00e9n beweging die eindeloos wordt herhaald. Soms beweegt het beeld juist minimaal en lijkt het een foto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De drie films in OVER DENKEN<\/em> thematiseren (te veel) denken. Het werk, opgenomen in de omgeving van de stad Utrecht, toont het herkenbare gevoel van gedachten proberen los te laten met een overvol hoofd. Po\u00ebtisch in toon, maar ook met een onbevangen kwinkslag en de nodige humor zoekt Van Veen naar (mentale) vrijheid in de tragikomedie van het over-geanalyseerde leven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The videos and performances by artist Janine van Veen (1989) are like moving paintings and living sculptures. She does the filming and performing herself in a natural environment using her own body as material. Sometimes you see a single movement repeated endlessly. While at other times, the image actually moves ever so slightly and looks like a photograph.

The three films in OVER DENKEN thematise (over) thinking. The work, shot in the surroundings of the city of Utrecht, shows the recognisable feeling of trying to let go of thoughts with an overloaded head. Poetic in tone, but also with an uninhibited witticism and the requisite humour, Van Veen searches for (mental) freedom in the tragicomedy of over-analysed life.
