Exoot <\/em>is de verzamelnaam van objecten en installaties van kunstenaar Tristan Kruithof (1977). Zijn werk Animaltroniek<\/em> weerspiegelt een \u2018bovenwaterwereld\u2019 waarbij robotica, mechanica en elektronica op transparante wijze samensmelten en er aaibare wezens ontstaan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robots en robotica spelen een steeds grotere rol in onze maatschappij en bij innovatie in het bedrijfsleven, de zorg, het vervoer en landbouw. Op zowel fysiek als psychologisch vlak wordt ge\u00ebxperimenteerd met technologische imitatie van mens en dier. Maar wat als dit uit de hand loopt en een eigen leven gaat leiden?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het project is ge\u00efnspireerd op Animatronics, een discipline die vooral binnen de film- en televisiewereld bekend is. Animaltroniek<\/em> onderzoekt het omslagpunt in beweging en beeldtaal, waardoor het menselijk brein als het ware kantelt, en iets als realistisch ervaren wordt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exoot is the collective name for objects and installations by artist Tristan Kruithof (1977). His work Animaltroniek reflects an \u2018above-water world\u2019 where robotics, mechanics and electronics transparently merge to create cuddly creatures.

Robots and robotics are playing an increasing role in our society as well as in innovation in business, healthcare, transportation and agriculture. On both a physical and psychological level, experiments are being conducted with technological imitation of humans and animals. But what if this gets out of hand and takes on a life of its own?

The project is inspired by Animatronics, a discipline known primarily within the film and television world. Animaltroniek explores the tipping point in movement and imagery that causes the human brain to tilt, as it were, and something to be experienced as realistic.
