Verdeeld over de dicht bij elkaar gelegen locaties AG en Kunstliefde
tonen 27 aanstormende ontwerptalenten ieder een bijzonder project. Voor het
minorprogramma met als uitgangspunt _What is Fashion?_ heeft deze groep
derdejaars studenten van verschillende studierichtingen van HKU, AMFI,
De Haagse Hogeschool en St. Joost een persoonlijke fascinatie uitgediept
en vormgegeven. In de tentoonstelling _Unfolding Perspectives_
presenteren zij de resultaten van een onderzoek met onderliggende
thema’s als lichamelijkheid, intimiteit, identiteit en subculturen.
Uiteenlopende visies worden verbeeld in verschillende media als kleding,
fotografie, textiel, performances en installaties. Waar de focus bij
sommigen meer ligt op het concept, staat bij anderen de materiële
uitwerking centraal. Daarmee geeft de tentoonstelling een dynamisch en
gevarieerd beeld van wat deze nieuwe generatie kunstenaars en ontwerpers
bezighoudt en hoe zij zich positioneren in een snel veranderende wereld.

27 young artists and designers represent their own perspective on the
question ‘What is fashion?’
Divided between the neighbouring locations AG and Kunstliefde, 27
up-and-coming design talents will each show a special project. For the
minor program based on the question _What is Fashion?_ this group of
third-year students from various departments at HKU, AMFI, De Haagse
Hogeschool and St. Joost have explored and shaped a personal
fascination. In the exhibition _Unfolding Perspectives_, they present
the results of their research with underlying themes such as
physicality, intimacy, identity and subcultures. Different visions are
represented in various media such as clothing, photography, textiles,
performances and installations. While some contributors focus on the
concept, for others the material elaboration is central. The exhibition
thus gives a dynamic and varied picture of what is on the minds of this
new generation of artists and designers, and how they position
themselves in a rapidly changing world.
