In the midst. A four part digital exhibition highlighting artists in the midst of covid-19.
Suddenly, we are in isolation. We connect through our screens and our world turns out to be mostly digital. Artists of Galerie SANAA send in work they either made during this period of isolation or work they connected to these covid-19 times.
We connect to exchange whether we are ok, in the Netherlands and to overseas artists who experience the same pandemic in totally different societies. We decided to invite artists of Galerie SANAA to send in work they either made during this period of isolation or work they connected to these covid-19 times. To develop the first digital exhibition in 10 years, to connect through art and to give way to the imagination, the creativity – because this can not be locked down.
In part 1 Halina Zalewska’s new drawings confronts us with the pressing matters of the current situation and the lack of the daily IC beds. Jessica Skowroneck’s paintings are about the wonder she finds in nature here and abroad, also during these times. Nan Groot Antink shows Studies of life in the lagoon, works inspired by the forms of the seaweeds in the Venice lagoon. Meanwhile referring to the transformation of the water in Venice due to Covid-19.
All works will be delivered at home free of charge and the Mondriaan Kunstkoop is available.
