De Nijverheid

De Nijverheid is een culturele vrijhaven waar ateliers, creatieve werkplaatsen en een prachtige kade ruimte bieden aan 50 autonome kunstenaars, vormgevers en creatieve makers. Het is een plek waar je niet alleen als maker maar ook als kunst- en cultuurliefhebber geïnspireerd kunt raken.

Het hele jaar door wordt er een divers programma aan beeldende en podiumkunsten georganiseerd, dat plaatsvindt in het kunstcafé, de loods of buiten op het cultuurterras. Kunstenaars, met name Utrechters, krijgen de kans om hun werk te tonen met veel ruimte voor cross-overs en experimenten.

Kunst Kade, een jaarlijks wisselende openluchttentoonstelling vormt een vast en onmisbaar onderdeel op de kade bij De Nijverheid. Deze geeft letterlijk de ruimte aan acht grote buiten kunstinstallaties. Met de bedoeling om de beeldende kunst in Utrecht een steviger podium te geven.

Bovendien bevindt zich op De Nijverheid ook de expositieruimte De Tunnel. Met maandelijkse tentoonstellingen presenteert het kunst van voornamelijk lokale kunstenaars. De ruimte bestaat uit twee aaneengeschakelde containers die een kruip-door-sluip-door route langs kunst bieden. “Er is altijd licht aan het einde van De Tunnel”

Op De Nijverheid bevinden zich ook de expositieruimtes van EXboot en Kunsthal de Kloof.

De Nijverheid is a cultural free port where studios, creative workplaces and a beautiful quay provide space for 50 autonomous artists, designers and creative makers. It’s a place where you can be inspired not only as a maker but also as an art and culture lover.

All through the year, a diverse program is organized, taking place in the artcafé, the warehouse or outside on the Culture Terras. Artists, particularly those from Utrecht, are given the opportunity to showcase their work with ample space for experiments and crossovers.

Kunst Kade, an annually changing and open-air exhibition forms a permanent and essential fixture on the quay at De Nijverheid. It consists of eight large art installations. Intending to provide the visual arts in Utrecht with a more solid stage.

Moreover, the exhibition space De Tunnel is also located at De Nijverheid. With monthly exhibitions, it presents art from mainly local artists. Consisting of two linked containers that offer a maze-like route filled with art.

The exhibition spaces of EXboot and Kunsthal de Kloof are also located at De Nijverheid.
