Nieuwjaarsborrel Beeldende Kunst Utrecht / IMPAKT & Art Utrecht
Op vrijdag 10 januari 2025 organiseren IMPAKT & Art Utrecht een nieuwjaarsborrel. We nodigen iedereen die zich betrokken voelt bij de beeldende kunst in Utrecht uit om met ons het nieuwe jaar te vieren!
2024 is geen makkelijk jaar geweest voor beeldende kunst in Utrecht: veel organisaties raakten hun subsidie van Gemeente Utrecht kwijt, waardoor het domein beeldende kunst steeds verder uit het beleid verdwijnt. Op 10 januari zullen we samen het jaar afsluiten, hoopvol vooruitblikken op 2025 en stilstaan bij het belang van solidariteit, creativiteit en een kritische blik in onze samenleving.
De nieuwjaarsborrel zal plaatsvinden in The Cake Is a Lie, de IMPAKT festivaltentoonstelling die sluit op zondag 12 januari. De tentoonstelling biedt inkijkjes in de speelse eigenzinnigheid waarmee kunstenaars zich – soms irritant, verwarrend of confronterend – richten op de politieke, ecologische en technologische omstandigheden die onze leefwereld bepalen. De tentoonstelling bevat werken van onder anderen Joyce Overheul, Susanne Khalil Yusef, HIMMELSBACH en Jeroen Jongeleen, en deze kunstenaars zullen ook tijdens de borrel aanwezig zijn!

New Year’s Toast Visual Arts Utrecht @ IMPAKT and Art Utrecht
On Friday 10 January 2025, IMPAKT and Art Utrecht will organise a New Year’s toast. We warmly invite anyone who feels involved in the visual arts in Utrecht to celebrate the new year with us!
2024 has not been an easy year for the visual arts in Utrecht: many organisations lost financial support of the City of Utrecht, with the visual arts domain further disappearing from Utrecht’s policies. On 10 January, we will end the year together, look forward to 2025 with hope, and reflect on the importance of solidarity, creativity and a critical view in our society.
The New Year’s drinks will take place in The Cake Is a Lie, the IMPAKT Festival exhibition that closes on Sunday 12 January. The exhibition offers glimpses into the playful and original thinking that artists use – in sometimes annoying, confusing or confronting ways – to focus on the political, ecological and technological conditions that define our world. The exhibition includes works by Joyce Overheul, Susanne Khalil Yusef, HIMMELSBACH and Jeroen Jongeleen, and these artists will also be present during the celebratory evening!
