Enik Recovery College is een herstelacademie, een leeromgeving en ontmoetingsplek voor mensen die persoonlijk ervaring hebben met ontwrichting door een psychische kwetsbaarheid of verslaving, en die willen werken aan hun (verdere) herstel. Bij Enik geloven we in het herstellend vermogen en de eigen kracht van mensen. Hierdoor biedt Enik een bijzondere omgeving waarin ervaring met ontwrichting minder ‘gek’ en eerder ‘normaal’ is, en waar respect en gastvrijheid tegenover ‘anderen’ voorop staan.
CareFull
Kunstenaar Mitchel Breed exposeert zijn project Ship of Fools II (Reflection on Madnes) bij Enik Recovery College Hoograven i.s.m peerworkers Davor en Mickal van Enik. Deze experimentele kunstinstallatie is te zien in de bibliotheekruimte van Enik Hoograven en bevat elementen vanuit een gelijknamige peer support groep die tijdens de expositie periode loopt. Daarmee groeit het kunstwerk wekelijks. Deelnemers onderzoeken hoe beeldmotieven, metaforen en archetypes een rol spelen in hun eigen herstelverhaal en vertalen dat naar tekeningen, collages en zines. Deze installatie geeft inzichten in je eigen maar ook collectieve reflectie op waanzin.

Enik Recovery College is a recovery academy, a learning environment and meeting place for people who have personally experienced disruption due to mental illness or addiction, and want to work on their (continued) recovery. At Enik, we believe in people’s ability to recover and their own potential. As a result, Enik offers a special environment where experience of disruption is less ‘crazy’ and more ‘normal’, and where respect and hospitality towards ‘others’ are paramount.
CareFull
Artist Mitchel Breed exhibits his project Ship of Fools II (Reflection on Madness) at Enik Recovery College Hoograven in collaboration with peer workers Davor and Mickal from Enik. This experimental art installation is on display in the library space of Enik Hoograven and includes elements from a peer support group of the same name that runs during the exhibition period. Thus, this work of art is growing every week. Participants explore how visual motifs, metaphors and archetypes play a role in their own recovery stories and translate that into drawings, collages and zines. This installation provides insights into one’s own reflection as well as serves as a collective reflection on madness.
