when we walk past the fractures, do they need attention? are fractures our common body? and are all our wounds from love? i think of being a tree like the ones i miss. sounds are turned off. are we together? in any land like mountains and seas. do you see someone? and when we go to different places, can we combine different flavors?
Leaving Traces is een nomadische installatie en performance rondom eten van het duo P-K-K-P. Gerechten en smaken kunnen herinneringen teweeg brengen aan familie, vorige generaties, tradities maar ook aan andere landen en continenten. Eten heeft de kracht verbindingen te maken: tussen heden en verleden, landen en continenten, en mensen van verschillende generaties.
Parvaneh Karimi (1983) en Karen Vantvelt (1986) vonden elkaar in Nederland tijdens hun studie aan de HKU. Hier kregen ze een bijzondere band en bouwden een gezamenlijke praktijk op als duo P-K-K-P.
Met hun projecten zetten ze taal, objecten en sensaties in om buiten institutionele grenzen te treden, en de intimiteit van een (t)huis naar een openbare omgeving te brengen: “Welkom in de binnentuin van Casco waar we onze nomadische installatie, een (t)huis, neerzetten en jullie uitnodigen om te komen, gaan en zijn (zonder verwachting).”

Leaving Traces is a nomadic installation and performance around food by the duo P-K-K-P. Dishes and flavours can trigger memories of family, previous generations, traditions, as well as other countries and continents. Food has the power to make connections: between past and present, countries and continents, and people of different generations.
Parvaneh Karimi (1983) and Karen Vantvelt (1986) found each other in the Netherlands while studying at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU). Here they formed a special bond and built a joint practice as the duo P-K-K-P.
With their projects, they deploy language, objects and sensations to step outside institutional boundaries, bringing the intimacy of home to a public environment: “Welcome to Casco’s inner garden where we set up our nomadic installation, a home, and invite you to come, go and be (without expectation).”
